DESCRIPTION:\nThe presentation will begin by looking at what led to the NCAA’s changes to name, image, and likeness legislation in 2021 including legal pressures and state/federal involvement. We will then explore UTK Athletics’ response to these changes and the support we are providing our student-athletes to assist them in navigating the NIL space, as well as potential concerns for both the institution and student-athletes. We will conclude with a review of the work UTK student-athletes have done in the first sixteen months of NIL, industry trends, and how to get involved in the NIL space.\n \nPlease note: The November meeting will begin our changeover to lunch presentations.
